Anatomy of Iconic Gowns: Vol. 6

Hailey Bieber’s Street-Luxe Ceremony Look

Hailey Bieber’s wedding gown, designed by the late Virgil Abloh for Off-White, was a bold reimagining of tradition through a fashion-forward lens. It blended old-school romance with contemporary cool in a way only she—and Abloh—could pull off.

At first glance, it reads like a classic off-the-shoulder lace gown with long sleeves and a dramatic train. But every detail is intentionally Off-White: the deconstructed seams, the asymmetry in the lace placement, and most famously, the statement text stitched into the veil:

“TILL DEATH DO US PART.”

The gown features a fitted mermaid silhouette with an off-the-shoulder neckline, delicate lace appliqué, and visible corset boning. There’s nothing shy or overly sweet here—this gown has edge. It’s designed to be photographed, studied, and remembered.

Hailey’s bridal wardrobe didn’t stop there. She changed into multiple looks for the weekend: a halter-neck slip for the reception, and casual all-white pieces throughout. Each was its own statement. But the ceremony gown remains the most iconic, bridging bridal heritage with modern attitude.

What to take from this:

If you’re inspired by Hailey’s look, but want a way to describe it more clearly, ask for:

  • Off-the-shoulder neckline

  • Long lace sleeves

  • Corseted bodice with visible boning

  • Fitted mermaid silhouette

  • Sculpted lace appliqué (not floral embroidery)

  • Dramatic tulle veil with statement detail

  • Bold meets romantic energy

This is a gown for brides who want their dress to be a declaration, not just a tradition. It’s romantic, yes—but not soft-spoken.

ModaUnico recommends:

To channel this look with modular freedom, start with our Wisteria bodice (for its corseted base and structured support), paired with the Jasmine skirt for its subtle flare and fitted lines. Add the Dahlia topper in pearl mesh or contact us at hello@modaunico.com to inquire about custom lace to echo the long-sleeve romance, and finish with a custom veil embroidered with your own personal mantra. This is for the bride who knows exactly who she is and isn’t afraid to let the dress say so.
